Stationary FKS-type kieselguhr filters use filter candles and are primarily designed for beer filtration. They have a basic filtration surface of 6 - 60 m2 with modular assembly. This means that it is easy to tailor to your needs!

We supply filtration lines with various different degrees of operator automation - from manual controlled to fully automated filtering lines.

Advantage:

  • Description of the equipment

    The filtration lines are made up of the filter body with filter candle elements.

    In order to ensure a specified flow of liquid through the filter, the equipment is supplemented by:

    • a main pump
    • and the required number of devices for preparing and dosing the auxiliary filtration means with kieselguhr dosing pumps
    • or stabilizing means, if the beer is stabilized at the same time as the primary filtration.

    To prevent the transfer of shock waves to the filter when switching the tanks in front of or behind the filter, the filter line is usually supplemented by compensation tanks.

    For larger filters, extrusion tanks can also be included in the assembly. The extrusion is a mixture of beer and water from the extrusion of water by the beer from the filter at the beginning of the filtration, and beer by the water at the end. This mixture can be used in the production cycle of the beer in a variety of ways to reduce beer losses during filtration.

  • Additional equipment

    Based on your situation and requirements, we can add other peripheral devices to the filter line. These are usually:

    • a sanitation station for the filtration line.
    • equipment for the production of degassed water - especially when compressed mixtures should be used in the production cycle or the beer must be stabilized, whereby increasing the oxygen requirements in the beer.
    • a compressed sterile air vessel for “blasting” the kieselguhr from the candle after filtration.
    • “Kieselguhr kitchens” for the continuous preparation and filling of dispensers with a suitable kieselguhr mixture.
  • Automation

    A higher degree of automation guarantees you a high-quality filtrate and low consumption of kieselguhr.

    DESTILA filtration lines are equipped with automated control of the flow through the filter and dosing pumps and control of pressure ratios in the filter (input, output, differential pressure) as standard.

    A turbidimeter ensures a higher level of control functions. It detects the turbidity values (j.EBC) of the beer at the filter output and, if the set parameters are exceeded, the system automatically changes the FILTER phase to a CIRCULATION phase. Whereby, the filtrate returns to the filter and either a sounds or signal alerts the operator to the faulty condition.

    A turbidimeter can also be added before the beer enters the filter. This provides an overview of how the beer passing through the filter is burdened with yeast and/or other turbid particles. Depending on the value of the turbidity at the inlet (j.EBC), the increase in differential pressure (kPa/h) and the recipe used, the system automatically adjusts the dosing of the kieselguhr during the filter cycle. In addition to the quality of filtration, this degree of automation can ensure more efficient use of the kieselguhr and reduce its consumption. We will also take care of your warranty service.

    The basic assembly is controlled and managed by a PLC with a touch panel as standard.

    The basic functions of the measurement and regulation system (MAR) include:

    • automated flow control of the pump (in modes for basic siltation, filtration, extrusion, sanitation);
    • control of the pressure ratios on the filter.
