Fixed filter equipment with FKS-type kieselguhr filters using vertical filter elements (candles) intended primarily for beer filtration. It has a basic filtration area of 6-60 m2, and is a modular type. This means that we will tailor it to your current needs!

We supply filtration lines with various different levels of operator automation - from manually operated to fully automated filtration lines.

Benefits:

  • Optional degree of automation – greater automation guarantees high-quality filtration and low consumption of kieselguhr
  • Tailor-made filtration lines can be assembled to meet your needs in terms of filter quality, concept and spatial layout
  • Filtration lines are usually supplemented by compensation tanks, which means that when switching tanks in front and behind the filter they prevent the transfer of a shock wave into the filter.
  • Kieselguhr filters have been an integral part of our production program for more than 50 years.

The filters have been a fixed part of our production program over 50 years.

How cooperation takes place:

  • We will prepare a non-binding offer for you
  • We will help you choose the right equipment, or build a functional filter or stabilization line based on your requirements
  • We will supply and install the equipment and put it into full operation

  • We will help you optimize the filtration process or stabilization of beer
  • We will train the operators in its proper and safe use
  • We will provide warranty service.
  • Description of the equipment

Basic filtration lines are made up of the filter body with candle kieselguhr elements.

Further parts of the filtration line include:

      • The main circulation pump
      • The necessary number of containers needed to prepare and dose the filtration agents with agitators and dosing pumps for the kieselguhr
      • Connecting pipes
      • Electrical equipment with a control panel
      • A measurement and control system
      • The necessary number of containers for the stabilizing agents with a stirrer and dosing pump, if the beer is stabilized using a special method together with the primary filtration
      • Buffer tanks to prevent the transfer of shock waves when switching tanks before or after the filter
      • An extrudate tank in larger breweries. Extrudate is a mixture of beer and water, which is generated by extruding water with beer from the filter at the start of the filtration and beer with water at the end. This mixture can be used in different ways in the technological cycle of beer production and reduces the loss of beer during filtration.

  • Additional equipment

Based on your situation and requirements, we can add other peripheral devices to the filter line. These are usually:

    • a sanitation station for the filtration line.
    • equipment for the production of degassed water - especially when compressed mixtures should be used in the production cycle or the beer must be stabilized, whereby increasing the oxygen requirements in the beer.
    • a compressed sterile air vessel for “blasting” the kieselguhr from the candle after filtration.
    • “Kieselguhr kitchens” for the continuous preparation and filling of dispensers with a suitable kieselguhr mixture.
  • Automation

DESTILA filtration lines are equipped with automated control of the flow through the filter and dosing pumps and control of pressure ratios in the filter (input, output, differential pressure) as standard.

A turbidimeter ensures a higher level of control functions. It detects the turbidity values (j.EBC) of the beer at the filter output and, if the set parameters are exceeded, the system automatically changes the FILTER phase to a CIRCULATION phase. Whereby, the filtrate returns to the filter and either a sounds or signal alerts the operator to the faulty condition.

A turbidimeter can also be added before the beer enters the filter. This provides an overview of how the beer passing through the filter is burdened with yeast and/or other turbid particles. Depending on the value of the turbidity at the inlet (j.EBC), the increase in differential pressure (kPa/h) and the recipe used, the system automatically adjusts the dosing of the kieselguhr during the filter cycle. In addition to the quality of filtration, this degree of automation can ensure more efficient use of the kieselguhr and reduce its consumption. We will also take care of your warranty service.
